25 Vedredy [1748] – This day I wonder to see such a depth of December snow covering the face of the ground a passing through old mowing pasture – cannot discover so much as a rod of bare ground, the bank of the ditch excepted. The old Mare was wounded and survived about a week. Fire in London. The 22nd Inst. (of this month) there was a storm, a mixture of snow & rain.
